Metraclark held its annual golf day on 15 September 2017, raising more money than ever before for its charity, the Kliptown Nursery School in Soweto.
The golf day was held at the Glendower course in Edenvale, Johannesburg, bring players from all over the industry together. It was an amazing spring day, and the course was a great challenge to all the players. The golf day is always a great time for customers to interact directly with all the suppliers directly.
The evening proceedings started with the MC famous cricketer Fanie de Villiers, who entertained the crowd with tales of ‘back in the day’. He also auctioned off some signed cricket stumps (from himself and other well-known players) to raise more money for the Kliptown charity. Raffle tickets were also sold for the grand prize of an impressive flat-screen TV.
But that’s not all. In a truly heartfelt sentiment, ebm-papst managing director, Kevin Petrie, donated R3 000 to the cause and challenged other companies in attendance to match or better his contribution. The donations came in fast an furious more added their names to the list, willing to donate to the charity.
The winning team was M&G Koelkamers and consisted of Hans Goossen (AEIM Air and Electrical), D Roos (M&G), Jacques Gouws (M&G), and Johan Rossouw (M&G).
Second place went to Temp-U-Air: Anton Esterhuizen, Dean Bester, Gailla Reservee, and Leon van Rooyen.
Not to mention a thanks to all the suppliers, ALP,Henry Tech, Equestra, EBM, Maksal, Danfoss, Major Tech, Siccom, Belfrieght, NMG, ID Capacitors, Quick pro piping, A-gas, DSV, Rothenberger Tools, Fuchs Lubricants, Zehil, JB industries, Kargo, Emerson, Chint and customers without them none of this would have been possible, what an amazing and successful golf day looking forward to the next one.
